Toby Tiger Celebrates Small Business Saturday at the House of Lords!

This week has been an incredibly exciting one for Toby Tiger! Our founder, Zoe Mellor (plus her daughter Kitty!), was invited to a very special reception at the House of Lords to celebrate small businesses across the UK- just in time for Small Business Saturday on 6th December.
We’re thrilled to share that Toby Tiger was featured as part of the SmallBiz100 - a list of 100 amazing small businesses chosen for their creativity, resilience, and the positive impact they make in their communities. Being recognised in this way is such an honour and a wonderful moment to reflect on how far we’ve come as a bright, ethical kidswear brand.

The event brought together hundreds of small business owners alongside MPs and the Small Business Minister, Blair McDougall MP. It was a real celebration of what small businesses contribute to local communities and the wider economy. As Michelle Ovens CBE from Small Business Saturday UK said: “Small businesses like Toby Tiger create incredible value in their communities… public support for entrepreneurs can make all the difference.” And we couldn’t agree more!
Research by Small Business Saturday UK and American Express shows just how much the public loves small businesses. Over half of Brits say they have a favourite small business, and 95% believe small businesses add real value to their local area. At Toby Tiger, we’re proud to be part of that story- bringing bright, bold, organic kidswear to families all over the UK while supporting our local communities.
Zoe Mellor said it best: “We’re thrilled to be recognised as part of the SmallBiz100 and to celebrate the creativity and resilience of small businesses at the House of Lords. At Toby Tiger, we believe in bright, ethical kidswear that brings joy to families, and it’s wonderful to see the nation backing independent businesses like ours this Small Business Saturday.”

Small Business Saturday is all about celebrating and supporting independent businesses, from shops and restaurants to services and B2B businesses. It’s the perfect opportunity to show your love for the local shops and small brands that make your community unique.
This weekend, we’ll be celebrating too- sharing our passion for bright, ethical kidswear and encouraging everyone to support small businesses, not just on Small Business Saturday, but all year round. Behind every small business is someone with a dream, working hard to make their ideas a reality.
So, whether you’re popping into your local shop, browsing online, or ordering from your favourite independent brand, take a moment to support small businesses this weekend. And if you stop by Toby Tiger, we promise lots of colour, smiles, and a little bit of magic for the little ones in your life!
Here’s to celebrating small businesses and the big impact they make every day!
